Moderator of panel 1: Response to the energy crisis in the region and EU<\/i><\/b> is prof. Nikola Rajakovi\u0107, PhD – chairman of the Association of Power Engineers.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The participants will discuss the current problems in the energy sector, both in the region and the rest of Europe, referring to the energy crisis and response of the states from the region and EU member states thereto, its consequences for the region and Europe, i.e. the methods for overcoming the energy crisis in the fastest manner, aimed at reaching the energy stability and establishing connections and networks for the future. Increase in prices of imported energy generating products and uncertainty of their supply justifies the need for introducing RES-based technologies. Development of the energy sector in the region is based on enhancement of energy efficiency and electricity generation from RES. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Panel 2: Optimal energy mix for the future and RES integration<\/i><\/b> challenges will be moderated by Matija Tadi\u0107, project manager in the German Development Bank – KfW. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Topic of this panel refers to development of the electric power networks, construction of interconnection capacities, and applying of new technologies in general \u2013 the manner of speeding up the integration of renewable energy sources with high quality of service for the end customers, having in mind that the existing network capacities are mainly insufficient. The participants will discuss transition of energy sector in the region via gradual increase and construction of the new capacities based on renewable energy sources, with safe and optimum operation of the energy system at all times.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Panel No. 3 – Implementation and financing of Renewable Energy Projects<\/i><\/b>, will be moderated by Petar Mitrovi\u0107 (Karanovi\u0107 & Parners) and devoted to discussion and exchange of opinions on topical issues and challenges the countries in transition are experiencing in the process of RES Projects implementation. Participants will discuss about methods, modes and sources of RES Projects financing, interest rates and RES Projects financing impacts, FI managements\u2019 decisions on selection of projects to be credited, conditions tailored to specific needs of each client or project.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Taking into consideration the accelerated strives of EU member states to reach a full decarbonisation by 2050, Montenegro\u2019s commitment to reach 35% reduction in effects of greenhouse gases emission by 2030, the transition from coal and gas to RES has become a predominant focus of Montenegro likewise the regional countries development. Most of the Western Balkans\u2019 countries still get the greatest portion of electricity generated from thermal power plants.
